Hints for oral and poster presentations

PDF and PowerPoint presentations in 16:9 format are permitted for your presentation. Please use standard formats (AVI, WMV, MPG) for video or audio files and bring them as a separate file to the presentation acceptance. When using video sequences, please ensure that the codec required for playback is included. The use of your own presentation device is not intended, but possible after consultation.    

Please hand in your presentation in time the day before, but no later than 2 hours before your presentation time at the presentation reception. Please use media with USB connection to hand in your presentation. If you use a USB stick as storage medium, please do not protect it with software.

There is a lectern with notebook, presenter and laser pointer in the lecture hall. A technical supervisor will support you on-site.

Please strictly adhere to the presentation time of max. 5 minutes and a maximum of 3–5 slides per presentation.  

The authors must hang a classic paper poster. Paper posters must be made in English and in A0 format (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm, portrait format, unlaminated). Please bring your printed paper poster and hang it in the poster area on your own. Mounting materials are provided on the poster board, which will be labeled with your poster number.

Please prepare your contribution in such a way that the times allocated for this purpose are observed. The chairpersons are requested to avoid overruns.

All speakers (orals and short poster presentations) have to hand in theire presentation before the lecture. Please follow the signage on-site. At the speakers preview area you can check your presentation if necessary. Free internet access will be available there for you to use.

The preferred language of all the presentations (orals, short poster presentations and posters) is Englisch.  

Your name will be digitally displayed at the beginning of the presentation. Please plan space in your presentation accordingly (approx. 1/10 of the height at the top). The time will be displayed at the bottom right of the image.

In accordance with international standards on the need for transparency in the event of potential conflicts of interest (COI), we ask you to disclose your business, personal and/or material relationships with industrial companies, consulting firms or payers or sponsors of medical institutions in the context of your engagement. Disclosures must be for the current year and for the previous three years.

For a presentation, please precede your presentation with the appropriate statement on a separate slide. Leave this slide sufficiently long and, if necessary, address it verbally.
